Will my child see improvement?

Our tutoring services are designed to support and enhance your child's academic performance. FAQ
Pencils and Notebooks

All WHM tutors have been trained under the WHM method. Our goal is to meet each student where they are, to ensure that their individual needs are being met. Our assessments not only show us what each child knows, but it also allows us to gain an understanding of their unique learning style. With this information, we create an atmosphere of peace, so that we can reduce math anxiety. We not only work to help students improve on missed skills, but also help ensure that they are satisfying current grade level standards. Finally, we use data to understand the best strategy to teach students. Our aim is to pull the math person out of each student and let them know, “you are a math person.”

What Parents Say

"My Kids Improved"

"Very Dedicated"

"Amazing Team of Tutors"

Candace has been tutoring both my boys for the past year and has been Amazing! She is very knowledgeable and patient and is not just a tutor, but also a mentor to both of my kids. Since Candace has been tutoring my kids, I have seen how much they have improved in math. They also enjoy the subject. I can’t  thank Candace enough for what she has done for my kids. I truly appreciate her!

My son was going to the 4th grade and I was looking for a Math Tutor.  Ms. Shaw was highly recommended by a parent.  After meeting with Ms. Shaw, it was obvious to me that she was very knowledgeable, very dedicated to her work, confident about her strategies and approaches, and very passionate about her service delivery and outcomes. My son and my daughter were previously struggling in math however they are both doing very well. Having Ms. Shaw has decreased their level of frustration and have increased their confidence with their approach to math. We have transitioned to virtual tutoring due to the current Covid-19 situation and having the support that Ms. Shaw provides helps them be more successful with understanding when completing their math work.

I decided to give Why Hate Math a try after speaking with a parent that enrolled her son in tutoring services. The referring parent, a charter school principal, spoke highly of the support and genuine care of Candace, the owner, of Why Hate Math. Since enrolling my daughter in WHM my daughter's grades improved as well as her confidence in her math skills. She also shared that Math is now her favorite subject. Candace and her team of tutors learned my daughters strengths, accepted her quirks and supported her in her underdeveloped areas. Thank you Candace and your amazing team of tutors. Why Hate Math continued to exceed our expectations of a tutoring service.
